Trempealeau United Methodist Church is a Christ-centered congregation in which human diversity is united in Christian love, worship, and service. We are a church anchored in a small Mississippi River town, reaching out to our community and to the world. We proclaim the Good News of Christ’s saving grace and liberating power to all. Our worship and programs invite people to respond to God’s grace, nurture them in their faith and equip them for service. We are an imperfect people who hope, believe, and word toward our own transformation and that of individuals around us.
Pastor Mary Beth Scow came to Trempealeau in 2016. She previously served Wisconsin churches in Glenwood City, Downing, and Emerald, as well as preaching for churches in the United Church of Christ and Lutheran traditions.
Her background is varied. She has been a freelance writer, a travel agency manager, a fitness trainer, and an auctioneer and real estate broker/owner, among (quite a few) other things. She finds great joy in helping people on their faith journey.
She is passionate about God, the full inclusion of all people, preserving the beauty and integrity of Creation, yoga, and her husband, Bob, to whom she has been married for a very long time. Together, they spend time fishing, walking, reading, and loving their pets. She figures she has cooked right around 5,000 meals of fish.

Our core belief is in offering open hearts, open minds, and open doors. We encourage every member and friend to also open their hearts. We acknowledge that some churches and Christians have not always been approachable or inviting. We also acknowledge that we are imperfect people all yearning to sense the healing and leadership of a perfect God.
